Jewellery-maker holds fashion show on wedding collections

By TAN KARR WEI

A WEDDING gown would not be complete without the perfect accessories for that extra touch of glamour.

With that in mind, Poh Kong Jewelers recently had a fashion show to flaunt its wedding collections at Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur.
Complete package: This rose quartz with amethyst and pink sapphire necklace adds glitter to a brid’s evening gown.

The event was targeted at couples looking for engagement rings, wedding bands and accessories.

Models wearing beautiful wedding and evening gowns look especially radiant with dazzling necklaces, earrings and rings from the Poh Kong collection.

There was a good assortment of accessories to adorn the blushing bride, be it in gold, white gold, diamond or pearls.

“Wearing a pretty gown without accessories is like displaying a Christmas tree without ornaments. Coordinated jewellery can tie your look together,” said chief designer Melissa Tham.

The Poh Kong diamond and gold roadshow at the mall also featured a wide range of wedding bands to choose from.

“When you see the type of reaction our wedding band creates, you know it's more than a ring. It’s a commitment,” said Poh Kong franchise division and international branding head Siow Der Ming.

Malaysian-born singer Gary Chaw, who made it big in Taiwan, made a special appearance on stage, strutting in with the lovely models.
Looking resplendent: The trendy Tranz collection by Poh Kong also goes well with wedding gowns.

As soon as he appeared, his waiting fans clapped and cheered in delight and they clicked away on their cameras.

Tranz by Poh Kong is a co-sponsor for the singer’s upcoming concert in Kuala Lumpur.

According to Gary, he has not worn a ring since he broke up with his fiancée six years ago.
Star attraction: Malaysian singer Gary Chaw makes a special appearance at the fashion.

However, he fell in love with the Tranz rings as soon as he saw it and he feels good wearing them.

“It doesn’t matter whether you’re married or single, you can wear as many rings as you want,” said the singer with a boyish smile.

Five lucky fans also got to go on stage to answer questions about the singer, winning a CD and poster autographed by Gary.
